7. Shere Khan, Baloo, and Leo
Baloo the bear, Shere Khan the tiger, and Leo the lion were rescued as cubs during a police drug raid in Atlanta 8 years ago. The three cubs were being kept illegally as pets by drug dealers.
After being taken to an animal rescue center, the decision was made to keep the three together since they bonded like brothers. Now aged around 8 years old, the 1,000-pound bear, 350-pound tiger, and 350-pound lion have moved to a new $20,000 habitat at Noah’s Ark Zoo where the public can witness their unique friendship.
Despite their predatory nature, the three mess around affectionately like siblings, with Baloo and Shere Khan especially close. The zoo’s founders who raised them say the trio are oblivious to their differences and share an unusually strong bond. Their clubhouse and habitat had to be specially built to accommodate the giant friends.
